Some international events relevant to victim assistance coming in the first part of 2012:

 22-24 January 2012, The 5th International Shafallah Forum, in Doha

 13-17 February 2012, 4th Session – PrepCom of the Arms Trade Treaty (ATT), in New York

The final Preparatory Committee (PrepCom) meeting for the Arms Trade Treaty (ATT) negotiations is taking place at the UN. For more information see the page on, Arms Trade Treaty & Armed Violence.

16-19 April 2012, Convention on Cluster Munitions Intersessional Meetings, in Geneva

The CCM intersessional meetings will include substantial discussion on victim assistance and updates by States on the efforts to implement the victim assistance obligations of the convention and progress in fulfilling its current action plan. 16-20 April 2012, 7th session of the Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, in Geneva

The Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities  is the body of independent experts which monitors implementation of the Convention by the States Parties. 21-25 May 2012, Mine Ban Treaty Intersessional Standing Committee Meetings, in Geneva

The MBT intersessional meetings will include substantial discussion on victim assistance and updates by States on the efforts to implement the victim assistance obligations of the convention and progress in fulfilling the Cartagena Action Plan 2010-2014.
